UARA To Assist In Officiating 46th Annual Slinger Nationals

SLINGER, WI (March 7) – New Slinger Speedway owners, Travis and Kelsey Dassow, announced today that the United Auto Racing Association (UARA), will assist in officiating the 46th Annual Cobblestone Hotels Slinger Nationals Presented By Lynch Buick-GMC. Ricky Brooks and his team of UARA officials will assist Slinger Speedway officials in technical inspection, race officiation, and race direction for the legendary event scheduled for July 8, 2025.
Dassow comes to track ownership after a successful racing career in his own right. Dassow competed in virtually every Wisconsin-based Late Model tour, finishing third in the 2016 Slinger Nationals and taking the championship in the ASA Late Model Challenge Series in 2007.
“The Slinger Nationals is such a prestigious event in the Midwest and, really nationally, that we felt it needed Ricky [Brooks] and his officials to continue the national presence and show our commitment to the integrity of this race,” said Dassow. “Utilizing the Wisconsin-based rules package that have been so successful, we want to make sure that our racers know they are on a fair playing field and Ricky will certainly make sure of that.”
Under the leadership of long-time racer and official, Ricky Brooks, UARA has grown to be one of the most successful sanctioning bodies in the country. Currently, UARA sanctions a national Super Late Model touring series and the UARA Sportsman division, which races primarily in the Southeast. The Slinger Nationals will join other events around the country that UARA currently assists in officiating.
“We are honored to have been asked by the Dassows to come in and be a part of such a prestigious short track event as the Slinger Nationals,” said Brooks. “UARA looks forward to teaming with the wonderful officials at Slinger Speedway to insure the best race possible in July.”
The UARA season continues March 13-15 at South Alabama Speedway with The Rattler weekend, featuring UARA Super Late Models, Pro Late Models, and UARA Sportsman. The next chapter at Slinger Speedway begins Sunday afternoon, April 27 with the Jerry “Bear” Priesgen Memorial.
